I’ve just come back in from my morning walk after reading some lovely heartfelt messages of thanks from the people in my world, on the other side of the world, who are celebrating Thanksgiving.
And what struck me whilst I was pounding the pavements, was how some of the messages have shown a more connected and vulnerable side to some otherwise hardnosed people and I have wondered why it takes one day a year to see, hear and feel this side of them.
If gratitude is the antidote to fear then what does that say about who we need to be when we are in situations that are unfamiliar or uncertain, scary or downright gut wrenchingly nerve wracking – in both our personal and professional lives.
We all focus on what we need to do all the time, stress about how we are going to do it, hardly give any thought to why we are doing it and give even less emphasis to who we need to be to really own what we are doing and make a difference. I think we have it all wrong – all back the front.
Check in with yourself for a minute:
- Who do you need to be today to truly understand who your customers are and what they really want?
- Who do you need to be to understand the real reason why you are doing what you are doing?
- Who do you need to be to implement what you really know how to do?
- Who do you need to be to articulate what your outcomes specifically are?
And most importantly, who do you need to be to show gratitude to those you work with, meet with, live with and love.
So, today I want to share that I am grateful you are in my life in whatever capacity connected us.
I am wrapt that I am being trusted with your businesses, your staff, your teams, your families and you and super grateful that we can turn these thoughts into top line growth.
I am forever grateful that you support me in my regular thoughts around the results that matter the most and cheer me on with my programs, presentations and conversations that step you into different thought processes.
I am grateful you keep me real and allow me to be the difference maker I wish to be.
